Area of Expertise.
Carbon Trade Ltd is a consultant and project developer working in the area
of landfill gas. The company undertakes the negotiation, design, management
and long term operation of methane capture and flaring projects operated under
the Kyoto Protocol Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as well as electrical power
generation under local power purchase agreements.
With over 16 years of experience in the landfill gas sector encompassing equipment
design and manufacture as well as project design and operation, the company
has practical experience of the hard reality of owning and operating landfill
gas systems.
In recent years Carbon Trade Ltd has studied over one hundred landfill gas
projects world wide and developed two out of the first four landfill gas to
energy projects in Central and South America.
While the company is able to undertake short term activities, such as providing
project reviews and second opinions, most of its contracts take the form of
long term retained consultancies. Typically the company will act as professional
advisor and negotiator for investors in landfill gas projects and will undertake
both the development of the business, the technical design and project management.
In addition Carbon Trade Ltd undertakes promotional and educational services
in the field of methane capture for climate change mitigation programs. This
includes work from the ground up such as training courses for project operators
to boardroom and international conference presentations.
Carbon Trade Ltd has the backing of private and institutional investors and
is able to introduce equity funding into CDM projects. In common with Carbon
Trade’s environmental and social policy we require our investors to maintain
an interest in the promotion of both the local and global benefits of methane
destruction and landfill gas power generation projects.
Carbon Trade Ltd concentrates on maximising the financial and environmental
benefits of methane capture projects, providing practical and useful advice
based on real experience of real projects.
